Merseyside
Ringing Group Members of Merseyside Ringing Group study

aim of our work is to benefit the birds through science, education and conservation.

Eyebrook
Reservoir Ringing Group The Eyebrook Reservoir Ringing Group
was established in 1998 to ring and study birds at Eyebrook Reservoir. Between
One and two thousand, birds are ringed annually, including good numbers of warblers.
Wash
Wader Ringing Group
The Group operates with cannon nets and mist nets, around the shores of The
Wash in both Norfolk and Lincolnshire, with the main aim of providing a better
understanding of the waders (shorebirds) using the Wash.
Kent
Ornithological Society The Society was founded in 1951 with the
following aims: a. to study and record all aspects of the avifauna of Kent;
b. to co-operate with national ornithological and other bodies in scientific
ornithological inquiries; c. to promote increased interest in ornithology in
Kent; d. to support conservation of bird life in the county.

Bird Observatory The aim of this site is to promote and share
information and records with all people interested in the natural history of
this unique habitat.
Sandwich
Bay Bird Observatory
is located on the South East coast of the UK. It lies between Deal and Dover
to the South and The Isle of Thanet to the North. The sandhills have attracted
naturalists to study the rich flora and fauna of the area, a stretch of coastal
dunes unique in the County of Kent and recognised as being of the highest scientific
and amenity value.
EURING is the co-ordinating organisation for European bird-ringing (banding) schemes.

Powdermill Nature Reserve One of the best ringing (banding) sites on the web. Located in the Allegheny Mountains Section of the Appalachian Plateau Province of Pennsylvania in the USA, this reserve is a centre for education and research. Full of stunning photo's and interesting data. Check out the photo archive for some interesting shots of birds in the hand, moult and unusual species.
Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust is the largest international wetland conservation charity in the UK. Founded in 1946 by the artist and naturalist Sir Peter Scott (1909 - 1989), WWT has 9 visitor centres around the UK, where people can get closer to wetland birds and enjoy spectacular wetland landscapes.

Survey 2000 This
is a major audit of the British countryside. It has involved both detailed field
observations and satellite imagery which has provided a complete land cover
census for Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The
Mammal Society The
mission of the Mammal Society is to work to protect British mammals, to halt
the decline of threatened species, and to advise on all issues affecting British
Mammals. We study mammals, we identify the problems that they face and we advocate
conservation and other policies based on sound science.
